Cupra Formentor prototype hybrid plug-in profile

Last week we told you that today, day 22 February, coinciding with the Cupra's first anniversary as an independent brand, we would see a prototype very close to production developed from scratch by the young automotive firm. The day has arrived and here we present you the new Cupra Formentor , which will be officially presented during the next Geneva Motor Show , in just two weeks.

Although the rumors indicated that the name for this model would be Cupra Terramar, at least in its prototype version, the company has decided to bet on the name of Formentor for the designation of this model. Obviously, this name comes from the island of Formentera, in the Balearic Islands. Let's see what they tell us about it .

The first thing we can emphasize is that it is not a concept far from reality, but that it could easily reach the streets as we see it > in these images. The design is aggressive and robust, with large air intakes and lots of character. Remembers in some way the Tarraco, but increasing the "anger" in its design. In the rear, in addition to the four exhaust outlets, the shape of the tailgate is especially striking.

In the interior we see the always interesting digital instrument panel, as well as a 10-inch floating screen to control all the information and entertainment systems of the car. For the rest, the line of design of Seat follows, although adding differentiated details beyond the Cupra logos, like bucket-style sports seats, for example.

It is associated with a double clutch DSG box and develops 245 HP . As you can imagine, it has four-wheel drive.

In theory, the Cupra Formentor has a 100% electric autonomy of 50 kilometers in 100 mode % electric according to the WLTP cycle, which is usually close to reality.
