The Audi Q5, A6, A7 and A8 plug-in hybrids are a reality
The electrification is the order of the day and premium manufacturers should be the first to bet on this cleaner solution with the environment. Audi has just reported that next week, at the Geneva Motor Show , will debut the entire new generation plug-in hybrid range. Therefore, we will see the Audi Q5, A6, A7 Sportback and A8 PHEV in Palexpo.
Although there are still some details to know about each of them, it is more than interesting know that the new Audi Q5, Audi A6, Audi A7 Sportback and Audi A8 versions plug-in hybrid will have an electric range greater than 40 kilometers . This means that in Spain they would be entitled to the famous label "0 emissions" of the DGT.
These hybrid models -and those that are to come- receive the denomination "TFSI e". Thus, it seems that the intention of the German firm is to clearly distinguish hybrids and 100% electric in their nomenclatures, as the second will be called "e-tron"./p>
Audi cites in its press release that " depending on each model, there is an alternative of two variants with different features and equipment: one version of comfort and another with a sports configuration ". The Ingolstadt company wants to give two approaches to its hybrid range , seeking comfort and maximum efficiency in one and more sensations and sportsmanship, in the other. There will also be aesthetic differences and in the behavior of the chassis. The batteries for these hybrid plug-in models from Audi are lithium-ion batteries with 14.1 kWh.
There are three operating modes for the hybrid system: EV, Auto and Hold . The first seeks to operate as long as possible with the gasoline engine off, the second is managed automatically and the third seeks to maintain the state of charge of the battery to, for example, save electricity to later use only electricity in urban sections./p>
